Mark, It's always been my understanding that if you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much space. Jim
I'm either going to, coming from or thinking about fishing. Jim

Im attacking THAT "space" angle also. Went to Florida in Dec weighing 223 (6'1"). Splitting almost EVERY restaurant meal with my wife and drinking "wisely" , returned a few weeks ago to weigh in at 207. NOW, having to sit in the house 24/7,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I've picked up CUSSIN at the cat. .

Georgia doesn't require a fee for a lifetime license for old guys, unless you want a plastic card (like a credit card) then it's $10. I just printed numerous copies and put them in my vest, float tube, Nucanoe, everywhere I thought it would be convenient.

What I don't understand why anyone would stay in IL after retiring.
I retired at 55 and left IL two days after I retired. NowI pay $500. Real Estate tax on a $150,000 house
Able to fish 365 days a year and don't have to shovel snow.

I lived in northern Illinois for 7 years. Central Iowa for the remainder of my 50+ years. Moving in a month or so to St Louis, MO. Not ready to retire yet, but it seems like the right direction. Mountain Home, AR, has always intrigued me, although I've never been there. I don't want to hijack this thread...but what do you think of it?

I lived in North Central AR for 8 years and worked in Mountain Home weekly! It is a beautiful small town! Certainly in the northern Ozarks! Ozark Mountains is a misnomer, the mountains are actually just hills but BEAUTIFUL none the less! You owe it to yourself to go! I truly loved AR! VERY economical living! I also worked in St Louis, TOO MUCH TRAFFIC! Absolutely NO TRAFFIC jams in AR! MUCH prettier!
    Kind Regards,
