    Default Steen's Bullethead Stimi SBS

Found this while sifting thru the interweb. Would not recommend searching on the term "bullethead stimulator" if you're at work or haven't updated your virus protection recently. Change color/size to suit your needs.

    hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
    thread - UTC 140 tan
    tail - deer hair
    rib - x-small wire copper
    body - dubbing tan
body hackle - ginger (undersize by 2)
    wing/head - deer hair
    indicator - 1mm foam orange

    Part 1

Mash barb/start thread at 3/4 mark

Clean, stack, measure (hook length + gap) a clump of deer hair; trim butts, tie in with 2 soft loops,

Pull tight keeping the hair on top of the hook, wrap thru the butts, trim, wrap to bend

Clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend - next time it'll just be gap width at tie in; this one's a little stalky) a smaller clump of deer hair; tie in/wrap to head butts/trim

    Tie in rib

Dub thread/dub body to 3/4 mark

    Part 2

Tie in hackle, palmer rearward to tail

Capture tip of hackle with rib, continue forward thru hackle, helicopter end/cover with thread; trim hackle tip

    Dub head

Pull deer hair back, over top of body; tie down at 3/4 mark

    Tie in indicator

    Whip finish, SHHAN, trim indicator

    Dave,

It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

    Steen’s Bullethead Stimi 2

This time with legs; shortened up the tail, too. Tyed here in skwala colors; not the olive green stuff that I've been using in the past but something closer to the ones I've been seeing, which is something like dirty motor oil (at least on the rivers I've found them on).

    hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - UTC 140 brown olive
tail - deer hair dyed dun
    rib - x-small wire gold
    body - dubbing brown
body hackle - barred rusty dun (undersize by 2)
wing/head - deer hair dyed dun
legs - Hedron Perfect Rubber brown
    indicator - 1mm foam orange

    Regards,
    Scott
