    Default making epoxy glue release

Need to remove the butt cap as the real seat ring is backwards. Anyone got any helpful ideas as to how one might go about correcting this problem? Will acetone work to soften or make the epoxy release?

Throw caution to the wind on the acetone.,, it may have a negative impact on the rod itself. The slow applicaiton of a little heat, will loosen the epoxy and will allow you to remove the seat. I have a spotlight bulb mounted in the bottom of my drying cabinet and when I want to remove a reel seat, I simply set the reel seat on the bulb, lean the section into the corner and come back in 15 to 20 minutes and take the reel seat right off. Be careful not to use a large wattage bulb though, it will get too hot. It will still be too hot to handle bare handed as it is.
