I'd appreciate any input on the Tacky Tube Fly on-stream fly holders. If it works price is no object. I need something that won't crush my dry flies. Thanks.

Open ended design makes me wonder how many flies would escape. I know that in some of the slotted fly boxes, every now and then when you open them a few flies worked their way out of the slots and were just bouncing around inside the box. So, if anyone has one of these, is that a problem with them?

I own one...got it for Xmas. As a Tacky fly holder, it works great. DO not use it in the winter. Once the magnet gathers ice, it drops your flies. Had a number disappear. But if time is taken to open it and use the tacky material...works great.

My buddy has one. He used it for a while, but was losing too many flies and retired it.
