Anyone use the goose equivalent to CDC?

For the most part, interchangeable. Goose is a bit bigger, stems are a bit heavier. Was gifted some by a hunter a time ago, and never saw the need to restock. Appears there are a number of commercial sources out there now.

I don’t use CDC very often to float dries because of its high maintenance but do use it a lot on subsurface flies for its movement. Except for the goose being slightly larger feathers, I don’t notice any difference between duck or goose on nymphs or wet flies.

The larger size makes it a good choice for stripping the good stuff off the stem to make dubbing, or add to other dubbing materials. Adds life/movement. As much as I like it for dries, I like it even better as an add-on to nymphs.
