Default Some guidance on a rod I am going to list for sale...

In search of some guidance before I list a rod for sale please. In the collection from my brother is a Cabela's Stowaway 7 - 5wt 9' - sock and case. The first of the questions is about the ferules. When assembled there is a considerable gap between the rod sections, showing the ferule rod. That is, the sections do not butt up against each other. Is this normal? Second question is about the worth of the rod. In my search for equivalent rods I have found lots of Stowaway 6's and a few 5's on the web, but no sevens. There is one entry from Cabela's that extols the features of the 7 but no prices are mentioned. The rod has never been fished as the handle is still covered in the plastic. So what might this rod bring on the For Sale forums?

    Thanks for your wisdom?

It's normal for a spigot ferrule. That's the kind that has a rod that is glued into one of the sections that the mating section slips over, as opposed to a tip-over-butt type.

Thanks - that explains the ferrules. All my rods are the latter type.

Now to figure out what this rod is worth.

    Thanks again.
