Rod wraps

See a lot of ads for grip rod wraps for spin rods. Anyone ever try on a fly rod?

One of the reasons Redington came up with the Vapen. Generally the demand/need is not there for the trout/salmon fishers. Could see why you might want it for salt, and there should be no reason why you couldn't use the same material on a fly rod as you would a conventional. I personally prefer the aesthetics of cork, but YMMV.
