Gary Borger has a conversation with April Vokey. I?ve known Gary for almost 39 years and I learned things I had not known.


Gary talks about how his youth growing up in rural Pennsylvania and how he came to fly fishing and fly tying. He talks about making his own bobbins, the importance of nylon tying thread vs silk, and the first genetic hackles.

Not sure what you mean by Gary's Feather guide. If you mean the BCS - the Borger Color System, it has been out of print for years. Here's my copy.

I have the 3 ring binder done by Ken Ligas with Scintilla.
At the back, it has several pages of small samples of their dubbing with their number and the corresponding number in Borger's Color System.

Or the 1978 book by Caucci/Nastasi

What is interesting about their book is that they provide formulae on the mixture of specific amounts of different colors of dubbing in order to reproduce the colors in their color charts.
