Variation on the Magnus, another Danish seatrout fly.

hook - Mustad 39011 #6
thread - Danville 6/0 red
tail - grizzly hackle tips
rib - small wire red
body - Ice Dub hare's ear
body hackle - grizzly
front hackle - red
eyes - gold bead chain

Part 1

mash barb, start thread, wrap to bend




prep (convex-to-convex) a pair of grizzly tips; measure (shank length), tie in/trim








tie in rib




dub thread/dub body






tie in hackle; reverse palmer to tail

Part 2

capture hackle tip with wire; rib body, helicopter end, cover with thread, trim hackle tip




tie in front hackle by tip - 30 seconds in the microwave in a damp napkin to make winding the stiffer butt section (include the fluff) easier




wind hackle; tie off/trim (lost the pic; sorry), tie on bead chain, whip finish, SHHAN
