Nice article; sorry to hear of his passing.
Walked by his place in Three Forks a number of times but never saw him around town
Regards,
Scott
My sympathy and prayers to the family. I never met Bud, but a young guy from my hometown In Pennsylvania worked for him for at least 2 summers and he really spoke highly of him. We were blessed to have him for 90 years.
We have had to say good-bye to another pioneer of the sport of modern fly fishing. I first met Bud and his late wife in 1971 on my first trip to Montana. Bud Lily's Trout Shop was an anglers mecca in those days and Bud was always in the store. Over the intervening years I worked with Bud on Trout Unlimited projects and I have kept track of him over the years. He lived a full and rich life. He will be missed.
