    Not really sure what part of the developmental process it's supposed to represent, but it's sure is different. A very cool vid (he has a ton of them)

    Even in Italian, the tying sequence is easy to follow.


    hook - Dai Riki 125 #12
    thread - Danville 6/0 olive
    body - mylar medium opal
    underwing - partridge
    wing - deer hair
    head - dubbing olive

    This is one of those very fishy looking flies. I really like the simplicity and the look of this fly and I imagine when tied in larger sizes would also work well for both LM and SM bass.

    Giancarlo certainly is a talented tyer and it is worth watching his techniques. He ties some great patterns with using a minimum of materials. Simple and eloquent!

    Hans Weilenmann has a pattern that is similar, that is a derivative of his CDC and Elk pattern called the "CDC & Elk Flash.

    They do share components; I think the partridge on Giancarlo's version gives it a different look, though.
