You made the most of your last trip, I see. Is that a Clouser pictured with the fish and what pattern is it? I enjoy fishing for smallies here in PA.
Nice Fish.

Very nice basseseseseses!
This has got to be SUPER late for ice-up in Ontario, right?
Just a year or two ago, here in Iowa, we actually had FISHABLE ice (4"+ thick) before Thanksgiving, then it melted completely away once or twice in December before finally refreezing for good (the remainder of the ice season) around Xmas.

I always find the fall bite for bass to be almost as good fishing as early spring. That said, we're getting near the end of the fall bite, especially as far north as you are. Those look like smallmouth bass which are sort of a cold water fish in my mind, much like Muskie and Pike. Nice fish though!

The fly is not a clouser but a sculpin creation of my own. Dumbell eyes with a deer hair head and rabbit fur strip tail. It's not that late for ice as we often don't get freeze up until into December. James Smith, I agree as some of Ontario's best bass fishing is hundreds of miles north of where I am.sculpin.jpg
Nice tie, Tig. Have to try that.

cool sculpin!
