Nice work Allen, the toughest thing is to get them to look the same! Keep going!

    Allen,

Very nice; they will catch a bunch of fish. Looks like you tied the white biots facing forward and folded them back over the fly; that's how I like to do it, too. Also looks like a few have partridge hackle, which should be very effective.

    Regards,
    Scott

That was my first fly, too, but they didn't look that good.

Well done! They will all catch trout. The Prince is an often overlooked fly when fishing below the surface.

    Thanks all!

Melk, the two on the right are the first two. I quickly got the hang of it. Practice makes perfect!

Alberto, I quickly realized that on the first two I tied. After that, I just knuckled down and did it, aiming for consistency.

ScottP, I combined elements from two different videos on youtube to do this. One of those used a cheap Coachmen Brown colored hackle for the throat, but also said not to use your good dry fly hackle. Only Coachmen Brown hackle I have is dry fly hackle. I have some brown hen hackle, but I didn't think to pull it out and see if there are any feathers small enough. One of those videos mentioned using partridge, which I do have. All the ones pictured have a partridge throat. And yes, I tied in the white biots like you mentioned. I've got it down enough that on the biggers sizes, you can't even see the tag end of the biots. On the first ones, and the small ones pictured below, you can still see that.

I decided to see how small I could take the pattern. Managed to get down to size 22!

Those look good. I had early luck with the Prince, so it has always been high on my list of subsurface searching patterns.

On beadhead versions, I put a tight collar of herl or dubbing just behind the bead.

Nice job, I saw on another bulletin board the tyer positioned the wing biot so the little ridge was up. He said it cased the fly to have additional vibrating action to it. I have tied a few but have not yet fished them.
