    Default Experimenting with Wally Wings

Anyone tie these very often. I haven't for years and back tying some.
I'm wondering if anyone dyes the mallard flank feathers different colors before using.......or, perhaps, even after tying them on?

Never mastered tying those type wings so as not to twist my tippet in knots.

I have frequently admired the metal of your vise jaws. What is the metal? Is it the JVise?

I only tie them these days in a march brown pattern. But have also found them to twist finer tippet.

They are nice for spent wing patterns though.

    Ralph,
Please post a pic of your March Brown version. Use natural or dyed feather?
    Thanks

    Byron,

A quick tie before I head in, I bit sloppy on the dubbing near the tail. I prefer mallard, and tie it with dyed wood duck. I'm out right now, so a natural mallard was used for this one.
