A Kiwi attractor. Original's tied with brown hackle only, but I prefer the mix.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail - moose body
body - dubbing bright green
rear wing - Congo Hair dun
legs - medium rubber brown
front wing - Calftail dyed golden yellow
hackle - brown/grizzly


Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 3/4 mark




clean, stack, clean, stack, clean, stack, measure (gap x 2) a clump of calftail; tie in/trim butt at an angle and cover with thread








clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of moose body; tie in, wrap to wing junction, trim, cover with thread

pull wing back, set angle with thread wraps in front; divide wing and post










dub thread, dub body to 2/3 mark






tie in a clump of CH




tie in legs




tie in hackle

wrap hackle, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN




trim CH, trim legs
