    Ran across this one while looking for some info on the Kite dry fly. Pretty cool looking Welsh pattern; Hans has a great video




    hook - Mustad 94840 #12
    thread - MFC 6/0 purple
    tag - tying thread
    tail - bronze mallard
    rib - x-small wire gold
    body - bronze mallard
    hackle - hen dun (original calls for Andalusian dun, of which I definitely have none)

    Lots of views, Scott, but no comments. Surely it is not a too alien a pattern to scare some North American trout?

    With all the buzz for flies like the Purple Haze, I'd think trout would give it a look. Forgot to include this version; proportions look more in balance on the shorter-shank Mustad 3399A
