Default Thurman's Slow Water Emerger SBS

Tied here as a Callibaetis; could work as a brown drake or hex in larger sizes/different colors.

    hook - TMC 3761 #14
    thread - MFC 8/0 sand
    tail/shellback/wingcase - mallard dyed woodduck
    rib - x-fine wire gold
    gills - aftershaft feather
    abdomen/thorax - Ice Dub hare's ear
    hackle - partridge

    Part 1

mash barb, start thread; tie in rib, wrap to bend

    tie in aftershaft feather

dub thread/dub abdomen to 2/3 mark

pull aftershaft over top; tie down/trim

trim some mallard fibers off quill, even tips; tie down with tips extending gap width past bend

wrap wire through abdomen; helicopter end and cover with thread

fold back butts of mallard; dub thorax

Looks like a killer! You could even leave off the partridge and have a very good Callibaetis nymph.
