Grizzly Attack in Yellowstone

A hiker was attacked and apparently killed by a grizzly; the man was a part-time employee in the park and an experienced hiker.
Please be careful when you're in bear country and take the proper precautions; bear aware is no joke.

Wow! Such a shame. One year we had to wait for some grizzlies to leave the rivers so we could fish safely. I still was very nervous.

But ya know, if your going to wander around in bear country, there's always an associated risk. Same for surfing in known shark waters. Every now and again sky divers have parachute problems. I guess one has to finally ask oneself if taking the risk is worth it for what their doing. In my case the answer is "yes". But I do take care when out and about, and do have a "plan" - of course - the real test of the plan comes when one is confronted!
