What colors should I use for the Pennsylvania or Northeast Grannom Hatch? I get confused by colors.

Unfamiliar with PA hatches, but Fox's Poopah works best in olive and cinnamon, although some also tie it in chartreuse and black too, and you can always darken the fly with a magic marker if you happen to need a darker color. A bit of web searching seems to indicate that the PA brachycentrus seem to range from dark olive to apple green, so I suspect a dark stripe across the back would solve the problem for an olive Poopah, and for the lightest colored but I'd go with either a chartreuse one, or switch to a Silvey's Caddis Pupa which is essentially the same pattern with different body material. Hopefully someone with more local experience will chime in.
From the Hatch Guide for New England Streams by Thomas Ames Jr:
"The pupae of Brachycentrus Americanus have pale green bodies with brown heads and wings. Those of B. Lateralis are olive bodied, with a tan lateral stripe and nearly black head and wings."
Hope this helps,
