Default First fish of the year

I finally couldn't take staying inside anymore. Yesterday I bundled up and went to the fly fishing only section of a nearby stream. I managed to catch 3 nice trout on a black bugger. I discovered that I wasnt the only crazy person in town, because there were a few other guys doing the same as me. Unfortunatly, I discovered a small leak in my waders that I thought I had gotten sealed up. Time for more aquaseal.

I finally got to use my new fly rod and reel and boy are they nice. Its a 4 wt Flylogic FLP+. I was pretty impressed by the way it cast and felt with a fish on.

Good luck to everyone in their first adventures this year.

Nothing makes winter longer than having new gear and not being able to fish it.

Its always good to get back out there and get reacquainted with your streams and especially the fish

    Ben,
Glad you had better luck than me. I fished the lake at Little Buffalo the last two days and got skunked. The ice-out is in full swing but the panfish aren't ready to go yet. It was nice just to go out and practice my casting.
