    Default Effective little PMD pattern

I always pick up some flies at the local shops where I am fishing. I found this particular PMD pattern to work quite well.
It seems, that of all the hatches, PMD hatches can bring out the most finicky trout and this little guy worked well.
Sorry, it is a little chewed up and is the only example I brought back to replicate.

    Not quite, I think.
    Wings are bleached deer hair.

But posted and then split above the post right? With the hackle wrapped around the post? Parawulff.

I'm not sure I've ever seen one in a fly shop bin.

Can certainly call it that. I hadn't seen one quite the same. Deer hair wings and split tail of microfibets.
Point was/is, it worked when other patterns weren't as successful.
Oddly, I returned to the shop to get more and they were sold out with no more to stock.

It, like many others are probably imports, but the local shops select which patterns to stock out of the many thousand patterns they could stock......

Along that vain, I saw some great looking patterns in little boxes on the counter. I asked if I could purchase some. I was told they were submitted by a supplier for the guides to try for possible ordering for the next season.

It's like Gierach has written more than a couple of times. The flies you should buy are in the nearly empty bins. If the flies in the full bins were working, they wouldn't be full.
