    Default Crappies during lunch hour

They are at it again in PA though recent rains have muddied the waters

Chartreuse Estaz Beadchain minnow with old Fenwick 7.5 foot 6 wt - 1954 Pflueger Sal-Trout (the ORIGINAL large arbor) and Cortland 333 WF6F line. I've caught more fish on this rod since 1973 than all my other tackle combined. She usually makes her appearance once or twice per season. Thousands of Bass, Trout, And Panfish on this rig over the years!

Can't go wrong with a good Fenwick glass rod and a venerable Pflueger!
When you can arrange your affairs to go fishing, forget all the signs, homilies, advice and folklore. JUST GO.

Great. Fly ingredients? Chatreuse Estaz, Yellow Marabou? What size hook and bead chain eyes did you tie on? I'm looking for something simple and I like it.

Showing my age here- Mustad 3906B (or any 1x long heavy wire sproat bend) in 8 or 10. Smallest brass bead chain you can find (I used a scrap from an old pull string on a shop light), trim close on sides and shape with scissors. I don't add any extra weight as they sink pretty well. I like a somewhat neutral bouyancy. Add weight if you need to get deeper than 5 ft or fish on a sink tip with short leader.
