Net No Net?

My buddy Matt is in picture battling a big trout a couple openers ago. I told him where to go and he hooked up on a big one. Luckily he had a friend along to wade in to his neck to land the big trout for him.

Matt promptly got a nice sized net and never thinks twice about it these days.

That's a good photo, his tippet holder on his chest looks like a winch, when I first saw it I was wondering what kind of a reel is that.
