    Default A few ties

    Hi,

Sat down at the vice the other day and tied up a few size 12 wets. These are my own pattern, the top one being one that's in the FOTW archives (Golden Vice Fly; found here: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/fotw...tw20101101.php ). The middle one is tied the same way, but I used fibres from a red feather from the Golden Pheasant skin, camel thread, a gray thorax, and the hackle is woodcock. The bottom one is also tied the same way, but the fibres are dark ones from a ringneck pheasant skin, black thread, black thorax, and the hackle from the wing of a female ringneck pheasant wing.

Very nice patterns and flies. Do you use these mostly in still water or moving river streams?

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.

Most excellent and elegant, Jeff. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks guys.

Warren, I use these mostly in moving streams, but you could pull them near bull rushes and along weed beds in a still water.

    Jeff,

Beautifully tied. Love the markings on hen pheasant; trying to incorporate it in more of my flies.

    Regards,
    Scott
