Rick,
after reading your article it reminded me of the first woven patter I tried, the tussle bug, caught several SM's and one of the largest crappies, on a fly, in one local waters I fish allot. Woven flies are a great once you learn the weaving techniques. I find the the granny knot or shuttle weaves to be the best for me.
