Default With all the talk lately on the bb on canes, how can I get m

Lately with all the talk of bamboo rods on the bb I got to dreaming about owning one. I sure like the looks of those Kusse Quads!

For the past couple of years my wife has been kind enough to allow me to buy a new rod and reel of the high end variety. This year she did hesitate a bit before giving me the green light. Now for my question. How do I convince my wife to let me buy a bamboo rod?

    TF,
When you find out let me know. When I ran the idea by mine while I was at the show in Somerset,NJ last Jan. she said "...no problem, just tell me what door you want your stuff set by!" Needless to say, I'm still "booless". Got to pick up some more side work to fill my little mad money piggy bank......

They make good wall art? Actually, I found my wife to be oblivious about graphite, but she keys in on those beautiful canes in their brass-capped tubes, so it's not so easy to move new ones in and old ones out. I had to convince her it was harmful to hang them over the mantle, or I'd never get to fish them. One good argument is that you could sell a couple of graphite to help finance bamboo, or you could buy used, or from a lesser known, but quality maker, and not spend much more than a good graphite would cost you. Jim:
Where were you two weeks ago?! I could have really used your services!

    Tyrone:
If you think it's hard to convice your wife, try convincing a pregnant wife. When I came home with my TFO the other day the first words out of her mouth were "You're spending the baby's money!"

As a viable alternative to sending your check to Jim Hatch's fine organization, I have listed my 3 step approach to getting the wife to let you have a boo rod.

    1. Marry a woman who fly fishes and ties flies.

    2. If it is too late for step one, teach the current wife to fly fish and tie flies.

    3. If steps one or two fail, either get a new, more obliging wife or just send Jim Hatch the check for $29.95.

If one or two work, abandon all hope. Your bills for tying supplies, bamboo rods and silk lines are gonna put you in the poor house. Think two of everything.

Happily fishing my way to the poor house,

    Hey Ron,

Sounds like a most pleasant and eventful
journey. It is after all the trip and not
the destination that really adds spice to
    our lives.*G* Warm regards, Jim

The serious answer that worked for me was to give my wife advanced warning (like 6 months). I told her I was selling off some old equipment and planning on buying some new stuff with that money and some that I saved. I then told her that I was getting a good deal and building one myself. In the end she thought it was fine, especially if I don't mention her horse riding activities or their associated costs.

PS, now that I have the 'boo can somebody spare a dime for some food for this poor old man *G*
