    Default Silver Invicta

The Invicta is a wet fly by James Ogden dating back to 1870. It is considered a good imitation of a swimming caddis pupa, and is very popular here in the Highlands. A silver bodied version is equally as good a fly as the original, and is very well regarded as a sea trout (sea run browns) fly.

Hook: Wet fly 14 - 8 (The one in the photo is on a size .
Thread: Brown (I sed Rust Brown UTC 70).
    Tail: Golden pheasant crest.
    Rib: Silver oval tinsel.
    Body: Silver tinsel.
    Palmered Hackle: Natural red game.
Throat Hackle: Originally Blue Jay. Glue dyed guinea foul or blue hackle makes an acceptable substitute.
Wing: Hen pheasant tail or wing secondary (Here I have used the wing secondary, rolled).
    Cheers,
    A.
