Thread: Bugs in tying materials

  1. Default Bugs in tying materials

    I suspect this has been dealt with before, but a search turned up no matches, so I hope for some good advice here. What is the best way to keep insects out of your fur and feathers? I opened a box yesterday and moths flew out--definitely not good! Help!

    Fishmom;
    After reading Al's article a couple of year's ago I went with the No-Pest strips.
    Your post reminded me it's time to replace them.
    Thanks

    Mothballs work well. I had a problem a while ago so I started using them. No problems since.

    I have used ENOZ Moth Ice Crystals for years---Kills moths carpet beetles and their eggs and larvae. Never had a problem with surplus material stored in a garage. Sold along with moth balls in most stores.

    Thanks for this new/old information. Just opened my seal plastic feather container and found a bug crawling inside. Took the whole mess out onto the deck and shook the mess. Only the one was found. Now I'll be buying a pest strip. JGW

    I think they have pyreathron (sp). Supposed to be not good for people too. I use a 1 inch square in every bag of stuff.
