I've seen those types of flies on other boards. Haven't been able to find critters with big enough tentacles at my area dollar stores.

That is pretty cool-looking!
One issue you may have to deal with is that the fish (or sometimes casting) can pull the rubber "tail" down on the hook, and you have to fix it before casting again. A couple solutions I've tried is to put a ball of dubbing at the point where the hook comes out of the rubber...and also to tie a staple to the hook shank and slide the rubber "tail" over it. This seems to help keep it from sliding down the shank.
