If you want something a bit nicer that stays within your budget, I would recommend that you look for a good used Galvan OB reel. I have two of them and they are beautiful reels with a flawless fit and finish and a buttery smooth drag. There are a couple available on ebay now that look perfect for your rod. No affiliation with the sellers, just very satisfied Galvan customer for a number of years. Just a thought...

I can't believe it hasn't sold. Maybe it has?

Thanks for all the input. I've look hard at the Battenkill Barstock, and the Redington Drift. I currently have an LLBean reel on my 6wt that I use for bass and its never failed me. So, the one for sale used is enticing to me. Very enticing. I will contact the seller about it.

    Thanks again.

    Hey there,

I would suggest that you make sure your reel is a click and pawl. Even a 7 inch trout deserve this respect. I also think this will improve your fishing experience. For 150$, I would look for a used Hardy Marquis #4 or 5, or a Hardy Featherweight. Be patient on e-bay and you can find these.

    Happy shopping!

    I would suggest the BBS reels as well. I have a 9wt, a 6wt, 2 4wt, and a 2wt...
Very pleased with all of them.

I also have a couple of Ross reels which I like very much too.

I pair some of the Angler's Roost reels with the lower line weight rods I build. He has a variety of good quality machined aluminum reels in the $50 to $80 range. They are amazing quaility for the price.
