There's the Squannacook in the Townsend area and the Nissitissit in Pepperall. Both have plenty of access.
A good map or satelite photo is a good way to get started. Plan a trip ahead of time to scout out some of the small tributaries and creeks that are usually all over the place. The best part about not having a car is that usually finding a parking spot around these areas is a bear.

I fish that place for trout a lot. Too bad there are no inlets of outlets. There used to be a tiny inlet, but it is dried up.
