Thread: Galvan standard

    Default Galvan standard

Anyone have one of these? I just aquired a Galvan standard 3.0 (new with warranty card for a good price). However, upon inspection the reel has two rows of machined perforations around the reel and spool. The picture on the Galvan web site has 3 rows. Is mine an older version of the standard? Any explanation or ideas? No complaints, just wonderin.

I have one that I bought a few years ago and it is a terrific reel. Excellent quality with a beautiful finish and the smoothest drag I've found on any reel. I think you'll love it.

    Bigfin,i have a ob-2,new model,i once had
a ob-2 about three years ago and sold it to try a bauer out which was a bad idea so i bought back a galvan. When i got the newer model i noticed it had a different drag knob
and a few other small differences, this could be your case, different year models. It truely does have the best drag i've ever seen in a flyreel.

While I don't own Galvan's, I would suggest calling or writing them. I find most manufacturers of fly fishing products are more than willing to answer questions.
