    Default Tying deer hair supply

I was in the West Yellowstone area for the last two weeks. Although the shops are thinning down on their inventory for the end of the current fishing season, Blue Ribbon Flies still has a large selection of deer hair (top bins). The elk and moose bins are not as full anymore.

While at Lowell, Idaho this past week I had a talk with the owner of the place where we eat. He also runs a game processing plant. He was telling me he would not be getting in any Elk until, perhaps Nov. I use the cream Elk hair from the Butt (around the tail) for my Yellow Sallies (Oct Caddis). As I am getting low and it is sometimes hard to find, asked him to send me some this Fall. He said he will and I will keep reminding him.

Byron - wish my shop had bins like that!!!!!!!!

Denny - Let me check at home tonight, I got a big fur package off ebay and it had a bunch of elk in it. I'll pull it out and see if there's any cream colored and if I do I'll snap a few pics and send them to you to see if it's what you're looking for.
Hope I can help - talk later.

I was in BRF last week and I was surprised the the price increased and the size of the product decreased. I must say I was somewhat disappointed.

Well, the quality of their hair is amazing - especially their sparkle dun hair. One of those small patches will last me a season. One bleached; one natural; and one dyed blue.

Trouts don't live in ugly places.

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.

Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.

    Byron,

If you're ever back in West Yellowstone and at BRF. I'd love to see a picture of their entire selection of Zelon and Zelon Dubbings. I wish every online retailer (and manufacturer) would have clear photos of the full color range of products offered. BRF sometimes list stuff in code based on a bugs name, thus giving me no clear picture in my head of the exact color or shade of the material offered. Most websites simply have a stock photo or two leaving the potential customer to guess whether or not a package (or type) of materials will fit what they're searching for in terms of product or color.

I have always told friends, if there was one place on earth I'd like to win shopping spree at, it is BRF.

Love the pictures of bugs that post.

A friend of mine just got his elk. I'll be getting a load of hair from him that should last just a few seasons! He packed out the entire hide from the neck down.

What do you use blue on?
Life is expensive... but it does include a free trip around the sun.
