I have a Phillipson "Powr-Pact" 8' three piece in like new, unused, condition with original alum. tube and sock.
It was given to me as a college graduation gift in the 1950s.
A local collector once told me to not even sell it to my best friend for less than $350.
How accurate this I have no idea In fact I'd like comments
I have been fly fishing and tying for all these years but just take the bamboo out sometimes to pet it .
Philipson's have been on the increase the last few years. From what I see the $350.00 is low today. Not sure how much, maybe 2-3 hundred, perhaps more depending on condition.
The 8' Powr-Pact in a 5 or 6 weight is a desirable rod on today's market and one in good to excellent condition should bring between $700 and $1,000 dollars. For a fair appraisal, contact Rick Gottdenker at Rick's Rods in Denver (http://www.ricksrods.com). Rick owns most of the remaining Phillipson bamboo and glass rod stock in the world as well as what was once the Phillipson company.

In my opinion, an 8' Phillipson Powr Pakt in excellent condition should bring a fair price of $650.00 to $700.00.
If the rod is truly mint, unused, with no issues, possibly $800.00 to the right buyer.
