    Not sure where the notion came from that these rods are soft in the tip... They are fast to very fast tips, and hardly in the same zip code with Ugly Sticks for slow tips.

    (In the spirit of full disclosure I detest everything about Ugly Sticks after testing free ones while guiding...)

    hap,

    You are correct about those being fast tips, but there is "give" coming from somewhere on these rods. Probably the mid-section that opens up line loops a little. I use it to my advantage whenever I can though.

    I love my robber I bought a year ago. I can skip docks with it's accuracy, and I am thinking of selling my Sage Smallmouth rod because of what this one will do.
