Default Bighorn and Tongue River this coming weekend

Headed out to the Bighorn this coming weekend for a couple of days for my regular trip and then off to the tongue river for a few days. Anyone out there got any current info?

There aren't any trouts in the Tongue, are there? Just creek chubs as I recall..... hope you have a fun trip!

Gonna be hot but, as you know, dry 90's are a bit different from what we're getting here in the East. I'm sure you've checked the latest reports:

Hope the Bighorn's not as crowded as the Mo was 2 weeks ago. Catch a bunch, take some pics.

    Regards,

I go out there every year and do very well at both places.
Just curious if there was any current updates from someone on the board. Last year got many bad reports
about the tongue......no good, water too high..........lotsa runoff etc.........and this is after calling THREE trout shops.
Well, had a buddy that was out there and after many attempts finally got a hold of him and he told me the truth.....the fishing
was great and the water level was just fine.
Will post a good report on here a few days after I get back.

Well, yes, your friends report was true ... but we try not to let others know !! Oh, come on! You know I kidding! Unfortunately, some trout shops don't agree with the sharing thing!! Have a ball ... be safe ... leave me a few trouts!

Betty, we were thinking of heading up to the Keyhole Res and fishing/camping a few days. Any idea of water levels and the fishing there?

    Chuck,
I'm sorry, in more ways than one, that we have not been up there yet this year. We won't be able to fish the Tongue till the first week of September. I would not suggest trying to fish the upward shooting water falls in the cement ponds of Cedars-Sinai. There are NO trouts there!

Hey Betty, Ironically......the fishing was the best that we had ever had.

Can't wait to give it a try next week and share how we did with the members on here.

I have not fished the Bighorn or Tongue in 10 years, so I can't help you with stream info. I had a great time on both streams the last time I fished them. The drive from Fort Smith to the N.Tongue was worth the trip, just spectacular scenery and some interesting geology. I got spooked by a female moose and her little ones once on the Tongue and that was pretty scary. Caught lots of fish and it seemed that anything black would take trout. I wish you the best of luck on your trip and please let us know how you did.
