I am still working on mine. I have destroyed several sets of feathers, trying to make them look like wings. One of my creations even scared the cats......
I would like to ask you all to give a big welcome to rawfish, who will be joining us in August, and will host for October (I swapped him out with gmac, who has already hosted at least one month).
Welcome rawfish! We look forward to your pattern theme. Always glad to have new folks.
Hey Rawfish, welcome to our club. I'm glad you found your way to us and I hope you will feel at home over here, like we all do. Looking forward to what you will be throwing at us for the October-swap!

Welcome aboard rawfish. Nice to have one more in the group. Who's hosting for August?
Flies received from Icemanxxxv. How's everyone else doing?
Just received flies from Gmac209. Holy cow! , these are some beautiful married wing flies. You really outdid yourself on these Gmac and I thank you for such a great effort for this months swap. I don't think I'll ever get these wet because they are going into my reference collection. You have really raised the bar for the rest of us. Outstanding job.
Well. I have done my best to tie passable Dark Montreals. Unfortunately, in this case, my best is dismal. They are so pathetic that I'm not even going to post a picture. I tried all month to get just one decent fly tied, but it was not to be, and I am out of time.
I tried one out in the river, and the bluegills attacked it with murderous abandon, so they do catch fish, and they are the right colors. But be warned, they are probably the ugliest flies ever tied. The wings remind me a lot of an old Alpaca sweater I used to have, that somehow found it's way into the dryer, by accident.
They will be in the mail today, unless the Postal Service rejects them as being too hideous.......
