    Default dragonfly nymph

DSC_0011.jpgHere's a new pattern I'll be demo ing at the CFC expo next month. I'm excited about this new leg material I've found that acts like rubber legs but is tougher and comes in better colors. This is tied on a size 12 swimming nymph hook.
    Thanks for viewing, Fred

Yeah I used D-rib for the body . I like the translucent properties and stretch. Have'nt tried knotting the legs though . I 'm working on making this pattern quicker and less complex . I am tying alot of varriations to see which swims better, cast better and most important catch more fish.

It's Spanflex by Wapsi . It comes in 16 colors and in small and medium sizes. It has the basic colors you would find rubber legs to have but it also has colors like Ginger, Dark Ginger , Olive , cream , tan and light gray.

Nice fly, very nice. I use MFC Wonder Wrap and Sexi-floss, a spandex-based product like Spanflex (probably the same stuff under their name). Love the color selection.

Did you do anything to widen the body?

Yes , I add two pieces of .025 lead wire and two pieces of 40 lb mono . One piece of each, per side, cut as long as the abdomen . This is done to give the fly the familar look of alot of DF nymps and to help get it down in the water .
