Default Pitt: For all your fishless waters like the Lamar, Soda butte when PMD's appear

    Hi,

This PMD is size 18 and is for Pitt to try when they are out on all those fishless rivers that once were great fishing in the Park.

    Good Luck Pitt!!!!

Nice fly Byron. As usual. But what's the point of fishing the Lamar when the fish are all gone?

    Pitt,
Good point. My assumption is that I must have caught the last fish in there last summer....................

With a fly that looks that good you might be able to make a long cast down the Lamar valley and entice some fish to follow it up from the Yellowstone - or maybe that's what you already did last summer.

Here's an Xyzabc story I wrote in 1989, the year after the big fires in '88. Was published in Dick Stewart's Fly Tier in June '90.
Most of the real place names (Stash Creek, Looking Glass Plateau, Ruby Creek etc) were made up names, in order to make pin-point place identification more difficult for the average reader. I guided a Pennsylvania man and his wife that June, on DePuy's Spring Creek, during the start of that season's PMD hatch. During lunch he started talking about the excellent Yellowstone article he'd just read in Fly Tier. He 'bout fell out of his canvas folding chair when I told him I was the author.
