    Default Photo help

What is the focal range of the camera you use to photgraph flies?

What software do you use to edit the images?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hey there Rick,
One of my digitals, a Pentax Optio WPi in it's macro mode can shoot at .9 cm. I use a free Google program called Picasa2 to tweek the results.
AND the camera is waterproof too.

I use a Nikon D70s with an f2.8 35-70mm lens. I set the fly about 18 inches to 24 inches away. They use Photoshop to crop and adjust lighting/contrast.

Hi, Rick. I use a digital Pentax WP in macro mode on auto-focus. For some reason the manual focus mode makes the images a little more grainy.

I got the camera because it's waterproof, not because it's a great camera for interior still shots but with a tripod, it's working out.

I manipulate the images with Adobe Photoshop or, if they're composed well enough, I sometimes just upload them directly to an album at [url=http://www.photosite.com:f032a]www.photosite.com[/url:f032a]

    I hope this helps.

    Rick,

I use a Nikon Cool Pix 4800. Tha camera focuses to less than 1/2 inch allowing even a size 22 fly to fill the frame nicely.

I don't tweak any of the pictures, but use them straight from the camera.

Like Diane said, use a tripod to steady the camera. Any movement at close focal ranges (like your heartbeat or breathing) will make your task much more difficult.
