Buddy, I think my Sidewinder is more like the Ultimate Indexer??
That's why I love my DK Voyager II, but for in-line rotary and speed my vise of choice is the Nor-Vise.

    Jay,
How do you address the rear of the hook with materials? Which vise do you tie on?

It is the mother-in-law of all vises. It is the Matthias Vise. He only made them for a relatively short time in the early 90's. Now, he has begun making them again but in a more refined fashion. The thing I like about this one is the finely pointed midge jaws. Makes tying on small hooks great..

I recently saw one on ebay. Does he have a website?

I address the rear of the hook directly from behind, with my thumb and index finger both parallel to the hook shank. This requires the heel of the hand to be behind and below the level of the hook shank. Most rotary vises don't allow this and the vise pictured would only compound the problem.

I primarily tie on a Regal. I use a Peak rotary sometimes, when it suits my purpose.

I have his mailing address. Perhaps you could find his phone number from this. He is looking at different ways to market his vise.
Tell him Byron gave you his address.
