3-2-12 first pike of the year. Went to the Clinton River at a spot suggested by another member from this site that use to live in MI. Have been out several times this year to no avail but today was a little different. River was up and slightly stained and the air temp was in the mid 40's. Casting from a tree lined bank ,which isnt easy, I managed to get 2 pike. The first one was the biggest and was lost at shore trying to get him up on the bank. After tying on a steel leader I managed to get the second one in the same spot. Using streamers tied simply with barbell eyes and krystal flash in various colors. Id include a pic but most of them or currently residing in the river. Regardless my season has officially begun
