Simms studs

Has anybody used the screw in Simms studs?Have seen them in books but never talked to anyone who has tried them.

I was given a box of Simms studs, would never pay that kind of money for some silly screws. I had been buying them at a hardware store and thought they were pretty good. I would get about 5 trips out of the hardware store bought screws. When I put the Simms studs in I thought nothing about it. Well, I have about 12 trips out of them and they still have probably another 12-15 trips left in them. I am a believer now.

I too have Simms ultra lights with stealth sole and the screws. I put the screws in and they are great!

There are two kinds. They have the regular plain ones and the carbide ones. I used the plain for a season and they worked well. I've been using the carbide ones for a season and a half, and they are great. I'll always have them on my boots form now on. They wear very well, grip as good as one could want and in my mind are very inexpensive for the sure footedness, security and piece of mind the provide. You won't be dissappointed.
