    Default Really cool camp stove

Not exactly fly fishing but I use camp stoves quite a bit, while out fishing, guiding and just camping out. I don't know about you but I think this stove is the coolest thing I've seen in camping gear in years...

The first video is of the prototype. The current production model is the second video. It has since addressed some issues that people looking at this had. One being size. They reduced it to the size of a Nalgene bottle, lightened it to just around two pounds. Sounds heavy to some back packers but when you consider that you don't have to carry any fuel...this thing rocks. It's in production now and is suppose to be hitting the shelves in late spring. I've ordered one already.

That is cool; as long as you have dry tinder you're money. Good time-to-boil, too. Don't think I could justify $129, though - my Supercat is slower, but it was cheap ($.79 for a can of cat food, $2 for metal flashing to make the wind screen, $2 for a bottle of Heet which is enough fuel for 4 days of cooking), fun to make, and packs inside my pot. Thanks for the link.

    Regards,
    Scott

Check out the alcohol stove in the video below. I think with a little aluminum tubing, careful bending you could redneck engineer a couple of your cat food cans into a knockoff.

That looks like something that could make third world countries obsolete.
