Thank GOD, I , like John above, feel as good I I did at 50 ( will be 69 on St. Pat's day). To me , age is, and has always been, a concept between the ears. I absolutely REFUSE to act my age. That includes EVERYTHING. I care about my waistline, my clothes, my activities and my friends ( admittedly, my wife acts as referee). I am NOT retired and don't plan to. I enjoy the heJJ out of what I do and as long as I can carry a sheet ( or 30) of 12' 5/8 drywall , I'm in it for the long haul. Obviously I can't go fishin as often as some of you but to me, fishin ain't the alpha-omega . I fish in God's country for three weeks a year and that's ENOUGH. I wouldn't move to a "retirement community" with a bunch of old fa__ts even if they paid me.
Betty, I have NO idea what is meant by "Golden Years", as for me, I think it's watching "Gold Rush" and wishing I was there.

    Mark
PS. I reemphasize "thank God" Who, so far, has gifted me the ability to act out my above stated life style. I am indebted to Him.

If someone "rides" you about your age, just tell them that age is a mind over matter thing and you don't mind because they don't matter......

I'm with Warren 100%...... My 23 yr old son ( our youngest kid) accused me yesterday of driving like an old man ! I replied proudly " I am an old man !" I didn't have to tell him to shut up.... he did it on his own

Granted, some of us are blessed with good health, some of us, though not so blessed, are blessed with friends who stand by us no matter. As nice as it may be to be able to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, I take more comfort visiting with true friends. Thank you.

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.

Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.

    Betty,
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro is over-rated. Ask the leopard who climbed up there and has been frozen stiff as a tourist attraction for the last 100 years.
Besides, Kilimanjaro isn't in South Dakota...

    Well, it is an alternative!

When a younger person gives me a bad time about my age, I tell them, ''If you learn to behave, someday you could be this age.''

Most of these replies make me feel better about my situation. Yeah, I use a cane to walk and get into my boat, but I DO have a boat.
Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.
