old legend ultra rod series
you remember the old sc IV blanks that preceded the new range? They were 9'9'' long instead of 10' in the larger line weights. Does anyone have one? Are they as good as the new range which we are familiar with?
I've seen a few used rods which I could buy.

I have the 9'-9" LU (SCIV) in both 6wt & 8wt 3-piece configurations. Unfortunately I have NOT had an opportunity to try out the new IPC version of the LU in any lenght so I have no basis for comparison. I do enjoy both of the 9'-9" rods. If you are located in or around the Minneapolis area I'd be happy to let you try one out to decide for yourself.

The Class IV St Croix Fly Rod's are just fine, they cast a line, just fine. It all depends on what your preferrence is.
