Default Harry Morgan A.K.A. Colonel Sherman T. Potter from M.A.S.H. has passed away.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Morgan but grew up watching him in the movies and on T.V. just like a lot of other folks did. I loved him in Dragnet and The Shootist, The Oxbow Incident, but the role he played that I loved the most was Colonel Sherman T. Potter on the series M.A.S.H.

Harry would have been on heck of an officer because the people he worked with, friends and family all say that he was Sherman T. Potter. I did have the honor of serving with a senior officer much like him. Mr. Morgan from what I know of you you are a fine example of what a man, what a human being, should be. I don't know if you fly fished but i do know that you were an excellent horseman. It takes a great and compassionate soul to be a good horseman. Now you can ride the trails of paradise with your old friends.

Love that video with you riding Sophie, your own horse in real life, off into the distance. Love those Potterisms of yours too.

Prayers to the family and friends of Harry Morgan.

Hollywood lost a good actor and America lost a good man. MASH was a favorite show of mine, especially after I learned the origninal book was modeled somewhat after a unit that was a part of the MS Army National Guard from Columbus. Dr. Grif Kellum, a neighbor in Tupelo was a member. I remember Harry Morgan from "December Bride" where he played the wisecracking neighbor, Pete. He was the second sidekick on the Dragnet show. He was a good actor from the comic to the serious role. I do not think the current crop has many, if any, that can replace him.
