Some things I wonder...

Is Gink the same as Albolene as some say?

From what I have read Albolene and Gink are one in the same.

I see I was wrong about fish oil being in WD-40. Just an Urban Myth. Hm. I wonder why fish seem to like it so much?

Dave, I've been told it may be anise oil but I don't know if even has it.

It could have anise, kind of smells like it might, or fish oil in the non-hazardous ingredients, which are priopertary.

It was a long time ago, maybe 10 years, that I heard that Albolene and Gink were the same. When I first tried Gink it did seem to be the same as Albolene. But hey, I'm not a chemist. Supposidly, George Gerhke(sp?) just repackaged Albolene. Hey, it turned out great for him and fly fishers. Personally, I've been using Albolene as a floatant for about 40 years. Back then, I had heard about using it through someone(?) and since my mother used the stuff for its intended purpose, I just put some in a small tin. I've since learned to use a squeeze container that seals tight! A small jar will supply you and several fishing buddies several years worth of use. You just have to use a tiny bit. Do not glob up your fly.

I looked at the Gehrke's website (Gink's manufacturer), they also make lubricating oils and waxes related to fishing, it would not surprise me to learn the ingredients are similar to Albolene with the exception of the beta carotene and maybe ceresin.
