man, i bet there is something big under that pile of lumber!

that is one deep scary pool!
Funny how you guys focus on the water. I tried to make the bridge the focus of this shot although there are three balanced elements of the picture; river, bridge, and misty forest. Must be a bunch of fishermen on here. I would expect one might find a bull trout over by the log jam or perhaps a white fish. The Sauk is mostly known for its steelhead. Big, brawling fish that come to a fly with purpose. It would be more likely to find a steelhead down lower in the faster moving water. On this day the rain was pounding down pretty hard and the river blew out in a few short hours after the picture was taken

I have to admit, Kerry. My first thought was "I know that bridge." Then I looked at the clouds behind the bridge and then, lastly, the water. First thought at the log jam, would not want to get swept under that.
Great picture, Kerry.
Happiness is wading boots that never have a chance to dry out.
Kerry, you have to consider the audience here. Slavering steelhead fanatics and all that. *S* I am kind of like Ron, though. I went, "I know that bridge!", then, "Look at all the woody debris", then, "I wonder if there are any fish in that run above it".
And now I am wondering if I ever hooted for owls in there.

My first thought was that could be the bridge over the Cheat river in WVa.
Good fishing technique trumps all.....wish I had it.
Kerry -
Neat pic. Really like the composition.
The reference to the Sauk River immediately took me back to the one attempt I made to hike up Mt. Pugh and to numerous hikes I made in the Cascades when I lived in WA. Beautiful mountains - some of the most "cut up" and steep, rugged country in the West.

The fish are always right.
You mean there was a bridge in the picture?
