Default Coq de leon Tailed Comparadun

    Hi,
I believe this splayed tail comparadun will float well. Any comments/suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Byron

Nice tie Byron. Because you asked, I think the tail may be a bit too long which would cause short strikes. Just my 2 cents worth

    Byron,

I consulted a palm reader and judging by the length of your success line, you will catch many fish on that fly. Just my opinion, but on anything smaller than an #18 I'd go with something like a Dai Riki 125 emerger hook to take advantage of the wider gap. As always, very nice fly.

    Regards,
    Scott

    Scott,
Good one! We may have come up with a real moneymaker: digital palm reading!!!!

If you want extra buoyancy you could add a head of spun deer hair in front of the wing. I use the butts of the deer hair trimmed off the wing for this.

The only scud hook I could find handy is the TMC 2487 size 16 which is a 2X short. Not a lot of real estate..............

In the next few weeks I will get some extension tubes for my camera. When they come I'll be able to take close ups again. When I get them I'll take you the photo.
    Cheers,
    A.
